The Variances of Prayer
52How important is prayer to you? Do you pray every day? asked by Shil19782
I think prayer probably means different things to different people. I know every single day someone is saying, "Please God, let me pass this test," "Let this turn out O.K." or "Let me off this parking ticket" - even those who claim no religious affiliation whatsoever. Official prayer seems to take place in sanctified places of worship - your church, temple or mosque, right? But even there, family members are often dragged, bored, only to mindlessly repeat the incantations, without thought to the meaning. Of course many people feed on every word, and are honestly uplifted and made to feel whole. That's their thing. I found singing in choir to do that for me. Some people would rather commune with nature and a silent, private hike into the mountains fulfills their spiritual need. Others practice yoga and that's enough for them. So with this dizzying amount of varied souls praying in so very many different ways, I would say, yes, everyone prays in some form or another every single day. And how you do it is not as important as how it makes you feel. If it leads you to a sense of peace, then more power to you and please share that feeling with the rest of us. We can solve a lot of problems that way.

Prayer is a great part of life. It is intertwined with every aspect of what I do. Kind of a continuous conversation with my God. It brings Peace no matter what the circumstances.
